NEW ADDITION: CO State Senator Dylan Roberts joins the event line-up to offer remarks supporting Advocates

Let’s take a stand against relationship abuse!

2023 marks the 40th year Advocates of Routt County has been sheltering and supporting victims of sexual and domestic violence in our community. The organization has grown immensely since 1983 and serves more clients than ever, yet, the work is not done!

This special year, we’re  collaborating with the local creative community on The Art of Survival project to commemorate this historic anniversary.  Since October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the project’s awareness campaign features many community partners across Routt County and will culminate in a gala event to boost visibility of this ongoing violence in our community and celebrate the resilience of survivors. 

Artists and survivors are invited to share new artistic works on the theme of “Honoring Survivors.” All works will be featured online, at the gala, and included in the auction. Curated works will be put on display in galleries and participating venues throughout Routt County through the month of October. Each piece will reside on a single, stand-alone easel (or pedestal) marked with scannable QR codes leading to information about Advocates, the artist/artwork, and our auction site as well.

On October 21st, each piece will be gathered to The Steamboat Grand ballroom for a gala art show, concert, and auction celebrating Advocates of Routt County and the survivors they serve. 

NOTE: VIP’s are invited to an exclusive Artist Reception at 5:30pm
